My real estate career began when I was a junior in college at the University of Kansas and got my license. I started by filling in at new homes communities’ sales offices when the regular on-site agents
wanted a day off. I got to meet a lot of area builders and see a lot of really nice new homes.
Since then I have gained experience being one of those regular on-site agents that I used to fill in for. I worked exclusively with buyers on a team. While working with buyers I went all over the Kansas City
metro area on both the Kansas and Missouri sides. I worked with buyers who were buying distressed properties, rural land, condo units and all other manor of residential real estate. I put people in touch with lenders, went to inspections and closings (by the way, I think I’ve learned something on nearly every home inspection I have attended) and got to know some parts of the metro area you in ways I hadn’t working in a new homes sales office.
After working with home buyers I went back to new homes sales, this time with a new perspective from the re-sale world. And I was able to keep doing some re-sales business, about 5 or 6 deals a year.
I recently joined Weichert Realty which has a unique combination of new homes and re-sale business and gives me an opportunity to grow in both areas. My approach to real estate is putting my clients first and that means making myself available for them, putting their interests first and doing everything by the book. I also do my best to make the home buying or selling process a great experience, sure every deal has its ups and downs, but there’s no reason you can’t have some fun during the process.
I like to think I have a good sense of humor and a positive attitude that can help keep the stress of a real estate transaction to a minimum.
